In a word, Awesome! I love the food they make here. The perfect southern lunch spot.

Service was fast and staff was friendly. I ordered a Carolina burger but way to much mustard was added and the patty was barely warm. I also ordered the chips and dipping sauce as my side. The chips weren't fresh and was soggy and the dipping sauce is actually a weird bbq sauce. I didn't even bother with the sauce after the 1st try. I would probably give them another try but would avoid the dipping sauce and if ordering the Carolina burger, ask for light mustard.

Every time I go to Grumpy Brothers, I'm greeted with respect, get great service, and they know me by name. The owners have a great thing here. Fresh ingredients, homemade dressings, burgers are on point, food is phenomenal. I would highly suggest the pimento cheese burger. So good it'll make you smack your momma. Good, sharp pimento cheese, fried green tomato slice. You can't beat it with a stick... And the jalapeño bacon is to die for. Lower process would be nice, but since they cook things to order and it's fresh, I'll be glad to pay it. You can sub the hamburger for grilled chicken or a veggie Patty if you're trying to stay on the healthier side.

I was so excited to experience something other a chain... I was disappointed. The food was bland and the dessert was not good...

My wife and I love Grumpy Brothers. If you want a unique burger in the Rock Hill area, this is the place. Though some of their craziest burgers have gone MIA from their menu, they still have a ton of good burgers to choose from. I did order the shrimp and grits once. It was great, but I just feel foolish going to Grumpy Brothers and ordering anything but a burger. It's a little pricier than Five Guys (but not by much), but so much better and much more authentic for burger aficionados.

This review is for the potato soup alone, it is by far the best I've ever had! It's creamy, chunky, cheesy & has just the right amount of bacon! Go try it!

I would say this place is above average. It offers a good selection of burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and various other items that work great on a night when you don't want to cook and aren't interested in the usual franchise fare. You will be waiting a little longer than average for you meal - but that is the trade off of getting something real. We actually like to call in our order and then drive over, the burger is always ready and we usually grab a cupcake from them for dessert. I definitely consider this a worthwhile stop if you work in Rock Hill, or you live in Rock Hill, Fort Mill or York County. Might not be worth making the drive from Charlotte.

Excellent food. Prices are a little high but at least for the money your getting a great meal. I highly recommend!

Although this place does have great burgers, we ordered a kids meal that came with 1 very tiny chicken strip, with a price tag of around $4 with no side. I was looking for a smaller portion, did not realize I would get 1 strip. Disappointed, and should probably let the customer know this before ordering.

We have never been disappointed here. My 5 year old son asks for it regularly and my wife and I are happy to oblige. Our only complaint is that it does take a while to get our food, but it's only because they cook to order with fresh ingredients. As a sign in the restaurant says, "great food takes time." It's worth the wait.

This place is great! Went there for some take out for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the entire experience. From the phone call to the pick up to the meal itself, I was pleasantly suprised. The staff was extremely friendly. The food was delicious. I got the big cheeze burger and it was fantastic. Will definitely be adding this place to our take out reportoire.

Always a great experience when we go! Fun variety of food and love the family atmosphere. A little pricy for burger and fries, however, you get plenty of food for your money.

I stopped in for dinner tonite. I arrived right around 5:00pm and there was nobody else there. I was warmly greeted when I came in. Grumpy's is a joint where you order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. I decided to order a burger and since it was Saturday, the fries were free with any burger. I went with the Pimento Cheese Burger and extra crispy fries (mandatory when you're serving crinkles). I asked if they could cook the burger medium. Sadly, they could not. It took probably about 15 minutes for my food to arrive. My food arrived and I was asked if I needed any ranch. Why yes, I would! The burger was good. If I could have had it cooked to my liking, it would have been great (and it would have moved my rating to four stars). I would get that burger again, but I would ask them to slap some jalapeno bacon on it. My fries were extra crispy as I had requested, and I received a tasty fried pickle spear on the side. Food was good, service was great, and the wifi was strong. If I'm in the area, I'd stop by again.

I heard they were the best burgers in town. Not sure who they are comparing to. Meat was a bit overdone and the potato salad was different. I had to try it once.

I have read reviews and thought, "Which resturant did these people go?" I have eaten here twice and decided it would not be a third time. Service was not good and food was worse. I am wondering if they have improved or what? I hate to waste money and go back but I am just so shocked about the reviews. Doesn't sound like same place. I may try them on a day that I have time to go elsewhere if necessary.

He said: I liked this place, I might give it an extra half star. Service good. Food made fresh. I can't remember what I ordered, so it must not have been killer, but I remember it was fresh and I'd go back. She said: The good was pretty good and the service quite friendly. I would go back if I was in the area.

We went on a Thursday night, about 15 mins before they closed. They were still super friendly and didn't rush us at all! The potato soup was delicious as always. We were talking to the owner and he shared that they peel and chopped the potatoes and made the soup fresh everyday. Delicious!! We also had the chicken salad sandwich, which comes with a pickle. I love any place that gives you a pickle!!

Best chunky chicken salad ever! I love how most things are made with local ingredients...and they even have Cheerwine!

I was down in Rock Hill over the weekend and heard about Grumpy Brothers. I was told that they make everything fresh to order so it don't be in a hurry when you go. And this is true. They are a little slow, but I don't mind waiting when the food is good and freshly made. This is one of those places where you go up to the counter and place your order when you arrive. Then you take a seat indoors or out on the patio and they bring your food out to the table. You can also call in your order ahead of time so it will be ready for you when you arrive. They offer a selection of sandwiches, salads, soups, and a small number of other entrees like shrimp & grits, quesadillas, tacos, etc. And since they make their own pimento cheese in house, I decided to order a grilled pimento cheese sandwich. It comes with bacon (they do offer turkey bacon, yay!!) and a fried green tomato. I decided to pair this with a cup of loaded baked potato soup, which you can also have topped with turkey bacon instead of pork bacon. The soup is thick and filled with big chunks of potato. I don't normally order sweet tea, but this looked like the type of place that makes sweet tea just like my grandma, and it is. They also have a case full of sweet treats that looked delish. We did not indulge on this trip, but on my next visit, I may not be able to resist the banana pudding or other yummy looking treats. I do hope they do well and I look forward to eating here again!

The menu price for a hamburger is $6.49, I thought this was a combo price and I was told to pick a side and next thing I know its $12+ for a burger and chips. Wow, I guess I am to used to Charlotte prices (Zacks Special, dble cheeseburger and fries for like $6). The hamburger was over cooked and the chips were WAY to salty and I never say that. I am the first guy to reach for the salt. I was suprised that the place was named Grumpeys because the people were so nice... till I left grumpy.

Grumpy Brothers is one of those places that we keep going back to. Very friendly staff and always happy with the service. Many burger choices and all I have tried have been juicy and delicious. Try the Piedmont Patty Melt or the pimento cheeseburger. (Get extra napkins!) My personal fave is the Philly steak sandwich. Best of all, they are locally owned and not a chain.

Grumpy Brothers is a nice addition to Rock Hill. Taking over the former Durango Bagels location looks like it may work out for the sibling curmudgeons. The decor is warm and inviting with a picnic feel to it. I had no idea what to expect when I first walked in...but there was something that told me this place is the type that serves pimento cheeseburgers. I scanned the menu until I saw the word "pimento" and bingo...there she was. My pimento cheeseburger was good and interesting in a good way...it had a fried green tomato on it. The burger also comes with a pickle spear...fried if you want it. My only suggestions would be to add a side of fries with the burger; nobody wants to pay for a side of fries...and offer a jalapeno pimento cheeseburger for those of us that like spicy pimento cheese. My daughter had the pasta and a side of sweet potato puffs (tater tots). My daughter only ate the penne pasta and left the spiral ones alone. They were apparently "yucky" lol. Two meals and two Cheerwines...about $15...not bad at all. The food here was good. I'll be back again. Good luck GB...I'm glad you chose this side of town!

Our new favorite place! My husband and I really love the food and friendly service. The burgers are amazing: fresh and juicy. Husband loved his "hot dawg" with Texas toast as bun and fresh pork skins. They also have great Arnold Palmers and wide range of drinks available. At first I was thrown off with the description of it being a bakery but they really are more of a burger/sandwich place. Definitely recommend going for lunch. I would give it 5 stars if they could include some healthier food options like more salads, wraps, veggies, etc.

Good food. The burgers are great and the service is always very friendly. Love that it comes with a fried pickle.

i'm not sure why this place doesn't get five stars from everyone. i have cheat days every three weeks and every new place i try is a total disappointment and pseudo ruins my cheat day. i chose grumpy brothers to try this past cheat day and their burger is probably top five best burger i've ever had. i got the fire burger with a pretzel bun and it was absolutely fantastic. i am definitely counting down the days for my next cheat day. this isn't fine dining so don't go in expecting you're going to get catered to for your every need and it's not fast food, and thank god for that. cooked to order and the taste is well worth the wait. if you want awesome food, friendly staff, and a low-key casual atmosphere, this is definitely the place.

Only ate there once so far but I will go back again. Fresh baked goodies, and I like that they sell day old ones for a discounted price.

Super friendly staff and good food. Not much more to ask for!

Went here late on a Saturday night, haven't been here before so got a menu and they offered for us to take a seat and decide, even though you order up front. We decided what we wanted, ordered and sat down. We got our food fast, and was extremely good for a local burger joint. I got the Stanly County burger and was juicy, but not too juicy with just enough seasoning to moisten your mouth. The people were real friendly and asked us if we needed anything frequently, but not too often where it was annoying. The only reason I didn't give five stars was it was a little pricey for a burger joint, but extremely good. Will MOST DEFINETLY come back again!

Breakfast all day... but no pancakes after 10:30. What?! If you're looking for a quick bite this would definitely not be the place to go. However, if you've got some time to kill, and are not starving, the food here is really good! (With the exception of the teeny tiny hairs found in the $10 hamburger that took 30 minutes to prepare) thinking back on it now, I should have just saved nine dollars and gone to get a double cheeseburger at McDonald's!
(2)Jane S.
Good food. Friendly service. Not a place I crave, but if in the area again at lunch, I would consider it.

I know Grumpy Brothers would like for me to tell how great their chicken salad is... .( 2 types and both are excellent!) or how great their club sandwich is...(my favorite) ....and how perfect the sweet tea is....(always take one for the road)....BUT this review is for their CUPCAKES and other desserts.....OMG.....love these and always save room for one ! Friendly service....even though the name is GRUMPY BROTHERS.... It's a must try and you will be a repeat customer as I am....be sure and splurge on a cupcake:)

I should have known there was a problem when I asked the waitress where to sit and she told my group and me that there was seating outside. In 50 degree weather? It's lunchtime on Friday, they are busy and we do get an indoor table, and the waitress says that meals will take about 20 mins. After some hesitation (another sign...) I specifically tell her that 30 won't be OK and she says 20. Forty (40) minutes later I don't have my food! I ordered an omelet. Even the waitress that was checking on diners knew that my table had waited an inordinately long time - she was hesitant to ask if we were "OK" because she knew we weren't. Since my lunch hour is time-limited, I go to the counter, and ask for a refund because I can't wait any longer. The manager made no apology and grumpily told the counter person to give me my money. Before she opens the register, my omelet appears so I tell him that I will take the omelet - to go. He says "You can't get your money back and have the food too". What???? At no point did I even insinuate this should happen; HOWEVER, in any establishment worth their salt (which the grits contained an overabundance of) the manager would have apologized and comped my meal. I asked if my grits were in the package, they were; I asked was my bread in the package and the waitress got a "deer in the headlights" look. I was with three other people - two of whom had to also take their food to go due to the long wait. By this time I'm hungry and a little annoyed so I say something to him that contained an expletive and he tells me don't curse in his "family" establishment. I told them to keep the bread. It's good that I was so hungry because he might have worn that omelet. The food was OK but in no way worth the wait. Grumpy Brothers lives up to their name and gives new meaning to the term "leisurely" dining. I don't fault the waitstaff - they are at the mercy of grumpy, horrendous management but the market will take care of them. Never again!
